NOT so fine as an ottoman.While this is a handsome piece, unless it is placed where it will not be used as an ottoman, it deteriorates pretty quickly if heavily used.After supporting someone's feet for a few evenings, the puffiness of the pillow top goes from even to lumpy. After a few months, expect a sad little pancake. Maybe not flat, but lumpy.Since it is still lovely with the top turned to tray side, it deserves a solid three stars, just be aware of it's limitations.Inside, expect a fair amount of storage, and unlike some others, it arrived free of any odors. No need to air it out before filling it with whatever you want hidden inside.Who knows, it might be fun to take the top apart some day when I have a lot of creativity and a bit of time. It wouldn't be hard to take some stuffing, fabric, and some embellishments and personalize it.Oh who am I kidding. The 'lived in' look is a fashion statement too, isn't it?

Ordered two and both look more purple than Royal Blue. Can't tell with low lights but a well lit area makes the color very noticeable. Nice piece otherwise.

Perfect addition to set next to the black faux leather futon to put your feet on, set drinks on, or extra seating, and extra storage inside. The leather is nice quality, I think it is a good size. There has been a few chipping spots on the black paint (table side where the inside meets the outer edge) that is annoying because it hasn't been used very long and no water has been left sitting there. Besides this, it is a sturdy and good quality piece. I think it looks like a round lego piece, which goes with the room it in, so perfect!
