I was surprised when I got it first how small this thing came packed, that in itself was amazing, but that the leather smell in so many reviews really wasn't that strong. Or I just spent to long in my tack room with the leather bridles, halters and saddles over the years that my nose just doesn't smell leather anymore, so don't take my word on the smell factor. It is gorgous, the pictures do NOT do it justice, I ordered the 'army' color which is kinda Fall colored, and its beautiful. I decided to use a large bag of polyfill to put in the thing first, careful of the zipper since many reviews say the zipper isn't very good(they're right mine's a bit wonky too but if you're careful and go slow its okay) and I cut up a memory foam mattress that I no longer have the bed it went to and was just languishing in my basement. the fiberfill gives you enough soft squishy cushion and the memory foam cut up in sections really made it firm that it just doesn't compress down to nothing and I suspect memory foam is probably a really good thing to put in since it will squish slightly form to the shape and spring back, and it isn't hard to cut that stuff just get a good sharp kitchen knife slice and then pull it apart. I didn't use little chunks except for around the side since I'm not talented enough to make circular cuts out of a memory foam mattress only square ones. So for people not sure on size, I have a over stuffed leather chair and I decided it needed a footrest to be much more comfortable. the size "large" on these is just about right for foot placement and maybe just slightly taller then I would have liked but that can be adjusted by removing or adding fill.
