I think whenever you order a leather couch, you want it to have that italian butter leather, but when you are ordering this one and it's only $500, you gotta expect, it's going to be a bit stiffer. That said, I expect that it might soften up over time. The only reason I give this couch 4 stars instead of five is because the back of the couch is actually pretty low, it's the same height as the arm rests. That means if a taller person leans back, the pillow will kind of bend over the top (a little), unless the couch is positioned against a wall. It doesn't really seem to be that big of a deal, but I'm 5'2" I need to have a bigger person come sit and lean back and see what happens. That said, it looks really great. Exactly like what you see in the picture. I have no regrets, it is exactly what I expected and exactly what I needed/ was looking for (in that price range).The couch came in about a week after I ordered it. The great news is that they call you to schedule the delivery time, and they were very punctual. The couch was REALLY packaged well -- like plastic wrap, around bubble wrap, that was around a box, that was around a wooden crate, that was around another box, that had the couch which was wrapped in a gauze like cloth over a styrofoam cover. There was NO damage happening to that couch in transit!The downside was that it was packaged perhaps too well. It took me a couple of hours to get the couch out of all that, especially the wooden crate. That was a feat to not potentially ruin the couch inside as I was trying to pry open the crate, which is made out of wood that splinters all over the place. The trick was not to scratch the floors, the other furniture, or myself. Luckily I have heavy duty camping tarp that I put down underneath the sofa crate to protect the floors and capture the splinters. I also recommend having a dust buster nearby and handy.

East End Imports (which imports this furniture from China) shipped the couch to me with Estes Express, which I've never had a sour experience with. Within three days of placing my order, a woman called and scheduled a window of time for delivery. The driver was very polite, and moved the couch into my house and asked me if it was alright if he helped me open it to make sure it was the right product and that it wasn't damaged during shipping. It was well-packaged in a double-packed corrugated paper box enclosed in a wooden skeleton frame. We had the couch out of the box and set up in 4 minutes. No assembly required.The oatmeal wool matches the pictures perfectly. The chrome frame has a middle support which will prevent it from bowing over time. The arm rests are a bit softer than other couches I've sat in with this style.The cushions are very stiff, but they loosen up a bit after a week or so of sitting on them. Having said that, it's always going to be very firm, which causes you to really sit upright in it. I prefer that style of seating, but other reviewers have complained about the firmness -- so you have to ask yourself what your usage scenario is.If you want something you can take naps in, look elsewhere. But if you entertain groups of people who sit around and drink/eat/talk with each other, you'll want a couch like this that sits people upright.All cushions are removable and washable, which is a huge plus with any fabric furniture. The bottom cushions are velcroed so they don't slide (I had never seen that before. What a great idea!).It's pretty wide for a loveseat; make sure to measure first, as looks can be deceiving. I'm a big guy, so I love the amount of space you get when you sit on it. Unlike smaller loveseats, with this one, it's totally not awkward at all to sit on it with someone you're not involved with intimately...For the price I paid, I'm extremely impressed with the couch. If you've got a mid-century/ultra-mod place you need some seating, this couch will fit in perfectly!

For the money, there are way better couches you can buy. If you really want a Florence Sofa replica in this price range, I'd highly consider the fabric version.The leather version is a joke. The seams don't align and the leather is really fragile. I've sat on this, ~4 times now, and the buttons are now a different color than the leather itself - and I don't wear pants or jeans that bleed. I don't wear belts, and somehow the piping has gotten scratched. This is compared to a bi-cast leather sectional I had in my previous home for 6 years, that didn't have even a scratch on it when I sold it after heavy use.The feet on this sofa have plastic covers that are essentially randomly selected squares of plastic... they are not finished in any way and look hideous.The comfort... wait, the what? the cushions are slabs of granite. Any thought of comfort should be left at the doorstep when you're entering your living room. And to further that sentiment, the back cushions have no way to attach to the back wall. Given that its support wall is half the height of the cushion itself, when you sit, the back will wobble, come off, fall back, fall forward, and do all sorts of unnatural things but will not give you comfort - remember you left that hope at the doorstep.Oh, and the delivery company that is used to ship this is a marvel in itself. They are severely disorganized, requiring you to call 3-4 times to confirm that they will be delivering in the week they estimated delivery (the online system never updates, and nobody calls you). Once you've taken the day off from work, bless your soul if you live in the city. Their trucks will refuse to navigate into inner streets and if they do, they will park a few blocks away and will make you push the crates to your building doorstep. They will then refuse to bring it indoors.I wish I could return these, and buy something more comfortable for the money. Even something from Ikea. But no, now I'm stuck with these uncomfortable, and unsightly slabs of stone. Please consider something else or the fabric versions of this couch.
